Studio Orange Presents: Camp Checkerboard – Summer 2025

Studio Orange is thrilled to launch its First Annual Camp Checkerboard — a high-energy, skill-packed summer camp for twirlers and dancers of every level. Whether your child is brand new to baton or dance or is a seasoned competitor, they’ll have the chance to grow, explore, and shine in a supportive and exciting environment.

Price: $125
$50 due at registration, remaining balance due 10 days prior to the start of camp, June 6th. Failure to pay remaining balance will result in the removal of participant from the camp.

Campers will be grouped by skill level (Novice/Beginner and Intermediate/Advanced) and will experience hands-on instruction in:

Baton Twirling – Covering rolls, contact material, horizontals, two-baton work, and so much more.

Dance Fundamentals – Including ballet, jazz, lyrical, leaps/jumps/turns, stretching, and general technique.

Pom Technique – Focused on high-energy choreography, putting their dance skills into motion, and building understanding and execution of a variety of precision drills.

Acrobatics & Tumbling – Campers will learn foundational tumbling skills, body control, and acrobatic technique in a safe and structured environment.

Creative Breaks – With Arts & Crafts and a Movie Station built into the day, campers will have time to rest and recharge without losing the fun.
Frequently Asked Questions
What should my child wear?
Camp participants should wear athletic-style clothing that allows for movement and isn’t overly baggy. We wouldn't want baggy clothing getting in the way of our activities. Sneakers/tennis shoes are required, and dance or ballet shoes are welcome in additional to sneakers but are NOT mandatory.
Do we provide lunch?
We do not provide lunch and ask parents to please pack a lunch and water for their child the week of camp! We will have a refrigerator on side to hall for storage of lunches.
Do we offer earlier drop off or late pick-up for parents who work?
Absolutely, in the registration form you will see the selection option to select the need for extended care followed by a written section allowing you to further explain what you would need.
Do we offer a pay in full option?
We do! In the registration for you will see the option in the payment section to select if you'd like to pay the $50 deposit or if you would prefer to pay in full up front.
